Suspects In Wild Hell's Kitchen Carjacking Sought By Police
Police are looking for two men accused of trying to steal an SUV in Hell's Kitchen and dragging its passengers along for several blocks.
HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — Police are searching for two men accused of committing a chaotic and brief carjacking in Hell's Kitchen last month, authorities said Wednesday.
The incident unfolded around 11:25 p.m. on June 16, as a white GMC SUV was sitting parked and running on 10th Avenue near the corner of West 42nd Street.
A 32-year-old woman was unloading the trunk, while a 30-year-old woman was standing outside the SUV's passenger side and a third person was sitting in the backseat.

A group of people walked up to the car, including the two suspects, who each entered the SUV through the driver's and passenger's side. One of the men began driving north along 10th Avenue.
At that point, the woman unloading the trunk jumped into the car through the back side, while the 30-year-old woman was pulled for several feet before falling to the ground, police said.

After three blocks, the men jumped out of the vehicle at the intersection of West 45th Street and fled on foot, police said.
The two victims who ended up inside the car were uninjured, while the woman who fell from the vehicle suffered scrapes and bruises, police said.
Police shared surveillance footage showing the carjacking and the two suspects walking through the 42nd Street subway station about half an hour later.
