Double Tower, 32-Story Hell's Kitchen Development Planned

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — Development firm Taconic Invesment Partners has filed plans with the city Department of Buildings to construct a two-tower complex in Hell's Kitchen that will rise more than 400 feet, according to development plans.

Taconic's new development will be composed of a seven-story north tower and 32-story south tower, both with residential and retail space, according to building plans. The complex will be built on a parking lot on West 43rd Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues. The development will have frontages on both West 43rd and 42nd streets.

In total, the complex will contain at least six retail spaces and 321 apartment units, according to building plans. Each floor in both towers will contain about 13 apartments until the seventh floor, when the north tower tops out. The eighth through 30th floors in the south tower will contain about 10 apartments each, according to building plans.

Planned residential amenities include a pool and pool deck on the 30th floor, a residential lounge and terraces on the 31st floor, locker rooms, storage rooms an exercise facility with a sauna and a bike storage room, according to building plans.

With 269,559 total square footage of residential space, the average apartment in the development will be about 840 square feet.

Demolition plans for the site have not been filed with the Department of Buildings, but demolition may not be needed due to the lot's status as a parking lot.
