Whole Foods Opens New Hudson Yards Market
The Hudson Yards Whole Foods opened in the expansive Manhattan West development.

HUDSON YARDS, NY — New York City's "newest" neighborhood is now home to a Whole Foods supermarket, the grocery company announced.
The new Whole Foods opened Friday in a 60,245 square-foot space in the expansive Manhattan West development that takes up an entire city block across the street from Hudson Yards' shopping and dining development on 10th Avenue. Entrances to the new Whole Foods are located on Ninth Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets and on the corner of 31st Street and 10th Avenue.
The new grocery store is Whole Foods' 14th New York City location, company officials announced.

In addition to grocery staples, the new Hudson Yards Whole Foods features:
- Takeout vendors such as vegan Mexican restaurant Jajaja, matcha-based beverage maker Matchaful and plant-based ice creamery Sunscoop;
- A full-service butcher department with meats sourced from Simply Grazin' and The Meat Hook;
- A beer selection that spans more than 400 offerings, including local breweries such as Three's Brewing;
- A cocktail bar called West Side Corner, which is now serving to-go drinks.
The new supermarket's inventory includes more than 500 unique products from more than 200 local producers. Many of the local businesses sourcing goods to Whole Foods receive low-interest loans from the market to help grow their businesses, according to company officials.

Online retail giant Amazon bought Whole Foods in 2017 for $13.7 billion. The Austin, Texas-based supermarket company was founded in 1980 and has since grown to more than 500 locations in North America.
