At a series of public meetings, naysayers have objected to anticipated increased enrollment in the school district, along with congestion, and pressures on Winthrop University Hospital as well as the infrastructure, including the sewer system, according to Newsday. Advocates say the building would bring in larger tax revenue, and increase foot-traffic to downtown shops.
Written comments may be submitted to the Village of Mineola Clerk’s Office at 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola, NY 11501.
