1 Third-Place Powerball Ticket Sold In Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, NY — New York Lottery officials announced a third-place ticket in the Jan. 20 Powerball game was sold in Mount Vernon.

The retailer is Lincoln Energy, at 40 W. Lincoln Ave.

The ticket is worth $50,000.

One ticket hit the jackpot of $731 million for the Jan. 20, 2021, drawing. It was sold by a market in Lonaconing, Maryland. Maryland Lottery authorities said the ticket thus became the largest game winner in the state's history. The estimated annuity value of $731.1 million is the fourth-largest in Powerball history and the sixth-largest in U.S. lottery history. The estimated cash value of the single ticket is $546.8 million.

The winning numbers in the Jan. 20 drawing were white balls 40, 53, 60, 68, 69, plus Powerball 22, and Power Play multiplier 3X.
