MOUNT VERNON, NY — 'Tis the season for giving back to your community. There are a number of ways that you and your family can help out and help others.

Every day through Christmas, Patch will be highlighting a way you can provide compassion and resources to those in need.

Today's opportunity is Holiday Grab and Go Elves. Youth Community Outreach Program — Y-COP — of Mount Vernon needs volunteers to help sort, package and safely distribute toys from its outside venue to children in the community.

Volunteers can sign up to prepare gift bags on Dec. 22 and/or distribute toys on Dec. 23.
