Artists Sought for SummerFest Poster Contest

From the Cross County Shopping Center: Cross County Shopping Center is putting a call out to all area artists – professional, student and amateur – to enter a SummerFest Poster Contest for the chance to win a cash prize. The outdoor mall in Yonkers is asking artists to submit their best two-dimensional, original artwork for this year’s new poster contest that will kick off the 2017 SummerFest celebration. The winning entry will be used to help promote the annual summer series.

“At Cross County Shopping Center, we like to keep our shoppers and the community actively engaged with the events we host. The new poster contest is the perfect opportunity to include the personalities of our consumers in the fabric of our summer campaign,” said Liz Pollack, Senior Marketing Manager at Cross County Shopping Center. “The best thing about this is contest is that you don’t have to be a pro to enter! It’s all about having fun and being creative about what SummerFest is to you. And, in the end we’ll have a poster design that promotes our summer series that is enjoyed by so many.”

To enter the contest, participants will create original artwork in any media that they think best exemplifies Cross County Shopping Center’s SummerFest. SummerFest includes outdoor summer concerts, fireworks in celebration of Independence Day, outdoor fitness classes, Kid’s DJ Dance Parties, Style Trends and Foodie events and more. For inspiration photos of past SummerFest events are posted on Facebook.com/CrossCountyShoppingCenter.com. All media are accepted, except computer generated art. Entry will be via email submission only.

The 1st Place Winner’s entry will be used to promote the 2017 SummerFest season, including but not limited to: on the center’s website, promotional posters, flyer and some printed and digital collateral materials. It will also be reproduced as a high-quality, limited-edition poster, signed and numbered by the artist, to be sold and distributed at Cross County Shopping Center’s annual fireworks event on Friday, June 30, 2017.

The 1st Place Winner will also receive a check for $1,500. The other prizes include a check for $750 for the 2nd Place Winner and a check for $500 for the 3rd Place Winner.

Entries must be submitted between April 17 and June 2. There is no fee to participate. Participants must be 18 years or older to enter. The winner will be announced by June 9, 2017 via phone and email, and then announced to the public on the center’s website and social media pages.
