Coronavirus Testing Center Opens In Mount Vernon
Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard talked about the walk-thru center and about the city's small businesses in her Tuesday update.
MOUNT VERNON, NY — A new coronavirus testing center opened in Mount Vernon Friday. Tests are by appointment only. Call 888-364-3065 to schedule an appointment.
"We know that that testing center was needed," Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard said in her Tuesday update. "We want to make sure that every day those slots are filled."
The city has been hard-hit by the virus, with 1,729 of Westchester County's 24,656 confirmed cases since March 3, when the first infected New Rochelle resident was announced.

City officials worked with the state to get the testing center, which is at the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center, 107 W 4th St.
The site is operating as a mobile walk-thru facility, to help those who do not have access to a car.
