UPDATE: Victims ID'd In Thursday's Fatal Parkway Crash

There were four people in the car: Two passengers died and a third passenger plus the driver were injured in the rollover.

YONKERS, NY — Thursday afternoon, Westchester County police identified the victims in an overnight crash on the Sawmill Parkway as two 17-year-olds, and announced that there was a third passenger in the car.

Ali Alghaithi, of Manhattan, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene at 1:06 a.m. Abdlwahab (Abdul) Abushaar, of the Bronx, died later Thursday morning at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.

The driver, an 18-year-old man, and another passenger, a 15-year-old boy, were also transported to Jacobi hospital to receive medical treatment for their injuries, police said.

Westchester County police said they received several 911 calls at 12:45 a.m. reporting that a vehicle had gone off the road and rolled over on the southbound Saw Mill near Rumsey Road. One person was found outside the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people were extricated and taken by ambulance to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. One of them died there of injuries sustained in the crash.

The accident closed the Saw Mill Parkway at its intersection with the Cross County Parkway for several hours. Traffic was diverted onto Rumsey Road.

The identities of the dead were withheld Thursday morning pending notification to family members.

As the crash is investigated by members of the Accident Investigation/Reconstruction Team, police ask anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at 914-864-7701.

The Yonkers Police Department, Yonkers Fire Department and Empress EMS assisted at the scene.
