Food Bank Brings Farmers Market Produce to Mount Vernon
The 'pop-up' program starts Friday. Fresh fruit and vegetables will be free to city residents every other week.
MOUNT VERNON, NY — The Food Bank of Westchester is sponsoring a new kind of 'pop-up' program in Mount Vernon.
"Every other Friday beginning July 14, folks will have a selection of fresh fruit, vegetables, and other healthy foods to choose from for FREE," says Mayor Richard Thomas on Facebook.
It will be held every from 4 to 7 p.m. every other Friday in Parking Lot 11, at Prospect and North 3rd Avenues.
