Gang Unit And FBI Raid Home To Serve Fed Warrant: Yonkers Police
Streets closed Wednesday morning in the area of Roberts Ave. in Yonkers as federal, city and county law enforcement descended on a home.
YONKERS, NY – Early Wednesday morning, the Yonkers Police Department Gang Unit and federal agents closed streets in the neighborhood near the 300 block of Roberts Avenue before serving a federal warrant.
The large scale law enforcement operation involved the FBI, Westchester County Police and the Yonkers Police Department Major Case Squad and Gang Units.
The large police presence and coordinated early morning raid on the residence caught the attention of neighbors, in some cases causing concern about a potential ongoing threat to their safety. Police officials, however, say the public was never at any risk.

"Due to the nature of the operation, a large number of officers were on scene to ensure the safety of all involved, including the residents in the area," Yonkers Police Department said in a statement. "There is no current threat to the public. The roadway was temporarily closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic but has since been reopened."
Officials say the din of police activity was connected to the execution a federal arrest warrant at a house at 326 Roberts Ave. Several suspects were reportedly taken into custody at the address.
