Lane Closures On The Hutch All Week
These will be on the southbound side due to the bridge rehabilitation work.
Work has begun to replace two bridges and a large culvert at East Lincoln Avenue over the Hutchinson River Parkway and Hutchinson River in Pelham and Mount Vernon.
Transportation officials are advising motorists to expect single-lane closures along the southbound Hutch in Eastchester, Pelham and Mount Vernon, daily this week between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday for construction work.
The parkway at Lincoln Avenue is one of the most flood-prone locations in the region, state transportation officials said. The existing bridge, built in 1925, is so low that it restricts the Hutch to an elevation that floods in a 1-year storm.

A temporary bridge will carry traffic during construction.

The project is part of the "Lower Westchester Bridges Bundle" work to replace four bridges, renovate another, and convert a large culvert into a small bridge. Transportation officials said the project, which includes drainage improvements and the reconstruction of roadways prone to flooding, will enhance safety and improve the region's resiliency during storm events.

The Hutchinson River Parkway stormwater system will be replaced and flood walls will be installed, along with a bypass culvert to convey precipitation from storm events into Pelham Lake.
Remember to Move Over a lane, if safely possible, or slow down whenever encountering roadside vehicles displaying red, white, blue, amber or green lights.
