Man Arraigned In March 5 Murder At The Yonkers Home of His Ex

Alexis Rose is accused of murdering a 41-year-old man at the Yonkers home of his ex-girlfriend who had a restraining order against him.

YONKERS, NY —Bronx resident Alexis Rose was arraigned Wednesday in Westchester County Court for a March 5 murder in Yonkers. Rose is accused of shooting and killing Shaun Hutchinson. Prosecutors say the homicide happened at Rose’s ex-girlfriend’s home on Warburton Avenue in Yonkers.

Rose was prohibited from being at the ex-girlfriend’s home by an order of protection issued by Yonkers City Court. Police say he was in violation of that restraining order at the time of the murder.

The 41-year-old murder victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the crime scene.

“This is a terrible crime that left children without a father and an entire family traumatized and we extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Hutchinson’s loved ones,” Westchester District Attorney Miriam Rocah said in a statement. “This tragic case highlights why it is so important to use every tool we have to keep guns out of the hands of people with histories of domestic violence.”

Rose fled the scene after the shooting, but the 35-year-old was arrested two hours later following a manhunt involving Yonkers and Mount Vernon Police, as well as the NYPD. Rose has been charged with Second Degree Murder. He is being held at the Westchester County Jail awaiting trial.
