Maureen Walker Endorses Clyde Isley for Mayor of Mount Vernon
Former six-term city Comptroller: "Clyde Isley is the best candidate for Mayor of the City of Mount Vernon"
On Friday, June 21, former six-term City of Mount Vernon Comptroller Maureen Walker emphatically endorsed Clyde Isley for Mayor.
In a statement, she stated: “In my opinion Clyde Isley is the best candidate for Mayor of the City of Mount Vernon. He is the most mature, qualified and experienced person to restore Mount Vernon to its past glory. I have no hesitation in endorsing him and encourage the voters of Mount Vernon to elect him as Mayor in order to reverse the damage done to Mount Vernon over the last four years.”
As Comptroller, Walker was known as a fierce protector of the taxpayer and it was that philosophy that earned her easy re-election victories. Her tenure was marked by annual surpluses and responsible financial management.
