Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On The Hutch

Police also identified the people killed in an early morning collision on the Cross County Parkway.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — A motorcyclist was killed Friday in a three-vehicle crash that happened on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Mount Vernon.

A spokesman for the Westchester County Police said the collision, which occurred around 9:30 pm. in the northbound lanes of travel near East Lincoln Avenue, involved two automobiles and a motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from his vehicle. He went airborne over the center divider and landed in the southbound lanes of the parkway.

The man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of his family, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the crash is under investigation by the Westchester County Police Accident Investigation Team.

Another deadly crash that occurred early Friday on the Cross County Parkway in Mount Vernon is still under investigation, police said.

Three people were killed around 2:30 a.m. when the driver of a Toyota lost control of his car, causing it to strike a guard rail and roll over.

Police identified the people who were killed as Garibaldi Reyes-Jerez, 22, of Manhattan, John Pena-Martinez, 24, of the Bronx and Maria Vasquez-Guzman, 16, of the Bronx. They were passengers in the car driven by Yordany Bautista-Hernandez, 21, of Bronx, who suffered minor injuries in the crash.
