Mount Vernon to Honor Distinguished Citizens
Five to be honored at City Council Meeting.

The Mount Vernon City Council will honor individuals who have served the city at a council Meeting on Wednesday, April 27, at 7 p.m.
Two times a year, the council honors individual who have served the community. At this meeting of the council, five individuals will be honored. They are:
- Danny Bernstein, founder and executive director of Backyard Sports Cares
- Dr. Joseph Cammarosano, economist, professor, and administrator at Fordham University
- Delores Mack, community activist
- Kevin Moore, director, Young Heroes Program at Lincoln Elementary School and founder or MKM Foundation for civic minded students
- Ruth Shire, former president of Friends of the Mount Vernon Public Library
The ceremony will be part of the regular meeting of the city council, which takes place in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 1 Roosevelt Square.
