Mount Vernon Hosts Two Talks On Expanding Arts In The City

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Two Creative Round Table events for artists, creative people and organizations will be held in Mount Vernon on May 3 and 8. There's also a survey, so you can express your opinions even if you can't get to the events.

The plan is to have an intimate conversation with makers and doers in Mount Vernon to learn of their creative practices and the resources needed to expand their art work.

For the first time, the City of Mount Vernon has commissioned a comprehensive master plan that will outline how the City can amplify its existing artistic and creative resources and best support growth and expansion. City officials want to make sure this plan represents the true spirit of Mount Vernon and want to hear from everyone.

The events are open to all interested in sharing their ideas on how to make arts and culture in Mount Vernon a vibrant and dynamic resource. Attendees can expect to discuss existing assets and activities, as well as possibilities and vision for the future.
