Mount Vernon Library to Reopen for Browsing
The Mount Vernon library is slated to once again open its doors to the public for limited services including, borrowing books and browsing.
Mount Vernon, NY— Bibliophiles are in luck. Beginning on March 8th, the Mount Vernon Public Library will once again open its doors to readers. Both the adult and children's reading rooms will offer limited hours for browsing and checking out materials.
Book lovers will be able to visit the collections in person on Tuesdays from 4pm to 7pm, on Wednesdays from 2pm to 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm. The library will allow a maximum capacity of 25 visitors at one time. To acccomdate more users, browsing time will be limited to no more than 30 minutes per day per person.
There are a few other key restictions to the limited reopening. As is still the case in nearly all public settings, visitors must wear masks at all times. Patrons will also be required to sign in before entering the facility and visitors exhibiting signs of illness may be denied entry. Features such as computers, copiers and fax machines will remain unavailable for the time being. Additionally, restrooms and water fountains will be strictly off limits for guests.
