Mount Vernon's Fresh Market Distribution

Mount Vernon's Fresh Market is our bi-weekly effort to combat hunger here in our city.

Did you know that one in four people in our City don't know where their next meal is coming from? In July of 2017, Mayor Richard Thomas in partnership with the Feeding Westchester began an initiative to tackle hunger in Mount Vernon. This is one of the many programs that Mayor Richard Thomas has implemented as part of his "Healthy Homes Initiative".

What started as a fresh produce distribution that fed 50 families every 2 weeks has now grown to service 200 families bi-weekly, with a supply of over 15,000 pounds per distribution. If you or a loved one need help to put food on the table know that Mount Vernon's Fresh Market program is here for you!

If you would like to volunteer please reach Shayne Brooks, Senior Coordinator of the program, by email at sbrooks@cmvny.com or call (914) 840-4040. Our next pantry will be next Friday, March 8, 2019. We hope to see you there!
