Postponed Closure Planned for the Hutchinson River Parkway

From NYS DOT: Motorists are advised that the previously scheduled closure of the Hutchinson River Parkway is postponed due to forecasted weather conditions. As part of the ongoing bridge replacement projects in Westchester County, a portion of the Hutchinson River Parkway between Exit 6 (Interstate 95) and Exit 12 (East Lincoln Avenue) is rescheduled and expected to be closed beginning Friday, March 16, at 11 p.m. to Monday, March 19, at 5 a.m., while crews perform construction activities, weather permitting.

Signed detours will be in place for both northbound and southbound traffic. Northbound traffic on the Parkway will be detoured at the I-95 interchange. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the Cross County Parkway and the Bronx River Parkway for points south.

All on ramps to the Hutchinson River Parkway south of the construction site (at the East 3rd Street overpass) will be accessible for southbound traffic.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detours, anticipate delays and plan travel accordingly.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
