Saturday Street Closures Planned For DMX Memorial Procession

YONKERS, NY — A number of street closures and lane restrictions are scheduled to take place periodically on Saturday in the areas surrounding the Empire City Casino as the DMX memorial celebration passes nearby.

There will be Yonkers Avenue/Central Park Avenue street closures from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Congestion from the closures on the major thoroughfares is expected to cause congestion on nearby roadways as well.

Secondary roadways and thruway ramps will also have intermittent street closures, lane restrictions and heavy congestion due to the memorial procession.

The Yonkers Police Department, which issued the traffic alert, is advising drivers to plan for delays or to avoid the area altogether.
