Visitation, Service For Orianna Catherine Parker
The former Mount Vernon resident had been an active member of Asbury, AME Church.

Orianna Catherine Parker, Ossining, NY passed from this life at 99 years of age in Sleepy Hollow,
NY on February 2, 2019.
The youngest of four sisters, she was born in Summerville, South Carolina to Charles and Sarah on July 23, 1919 and moved to Mount Vernon, NY in 1928, where she attended the public schools. In 1942, she married Frederick A. Parker in 1942 shortly before he was assigned to military duty in Europe. Orianna assisted the war effort by working in factories manufacturing war supplies.
After the war’s end, they settled in Mount Vernon and had three sons, Frederick, Michael and Dennis. After spending years raising her children, she returned to the workforce as an employee at the Westchester County Department of Social Services, Child Protective Services where she remained until her retirement. In Mount Vernon, she was an active member of Asbury, AME Church.

Orianna moved to Ossining in 1999 were she volunteered at the Ossining Food Pantry and attended Trinity Church. She was a fierce competitor in Scrabble and enjoyed music. She was predeceased by her husband Fred, her sisters Frances, Anna and Florence and is survived by her three sons, grandchildren Kristen, Jonathon, Christian, Andrea, and Zoe and great grandchildren Rebekah, Rachael and Tessa.
Visitation will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home, 14 Emwilton Place, Ossining from 4-8 P.M. on Friday, February 8, 2019. Her funeral will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 7 South Highland Avenue (Ellis Place for GPS) Ossining, NY at 10 A.M. February 9, 2019 followed by a reception.

Interment will be at White Plains Rural Cemetery, 167 North Broadway, White Plains, at 1:00 p.m. on February 9, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army, the Ossining Food Pantry or Trinity Episcopal Church.
