2 Slashed After Intervening In Domestic Fight: Clarkstown Cops

Police alleged a Spring Valley resident wielded a knife and then went to the hospital to be treated for his own injuries.

NANUET, NY — A report of an assault took the Clarkstown police to 75 N. Pascack Road in Nanuet at 9 p.m. Wednesday. Their initial investigation concluded that two victims, a 26-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, were attacked by a man with a knife.

The suspect was identified as Kirwin Forrest, 30 of Spring Valley.

Police alleged Forrest began arguing with his ex-girlfriend in front of her home at which time the victims, both Nanuet residents, tried to intervene.

They said Forrest became enraged and slashed the woman in the left forearm and the man in the neck.

The victims were transported to Nyack Hospital for treatment of their injuries by a friend prior to police arrival.

Police allege Forrest fled. He was later located at Good Samaritan Hospital where he was being treated for his injuries that he sustained during the fight, they said.

None of the injuries sustained by the parties involved were deemed to be life threatening.

Forrest was charged with Assault 1st (felony), Assault 2nd (felony) and Criminal possession of a weapon 4th (misdemeanor). He will be arraigned via video conferencing in Rockland County Court.
