Alisa Turner Lost 44 Pounds At Peak Physique

Nanuet, N.Y. (April 22, 2019) – Alisa Turner gave birth to an handsome baby boy in May 2017. "Although I was very excited to begin the journey of motherhood and experience all that I can as a first time mother, it was difficult for me because I had hit my heaviest weight of 223 pounds. My mind was never at peace. I just kept thinking to myself, I'm so young, I can't allow myself to look so disgusting with body out of shape and fat everywhere. I was out of breath just after walking a flight of stairs and weak all of the time. I knew that I needed to do something about my health" said Alisa Turner.

1) Why did you choose Peak Physique Personal Training, Bootcamp and Boxing?

One day, I was grocery shopping and I ran into a friend. She began to tell me about a 6 week weight loss challenge going on at Peak physique. Instantly, I became interested because I knew how desperately I wanted to lose weight. The minute that I got home, I looked the gym up online and I knew that's where I was going to begin my weight-loss journey. Seeing the before and after pictures, watching the small videos, and reading the reviews gave me an insight on how awesome Peak physique was. It gave me hope that I could loose the weight, so I joined Peak 3 months after having my son in August 2017.

2) How many pounds did you lose so far? How long did it take?

I lost my first 20 pounds in 6 weeks and dropped another 10 pounds 2 months later. I was down a total of 44 pounds within 6 months.

3) How did Peak Physique help you meet your weight loss goal?

To not loose weight with Peak physique is impossible. The coaches are great. Your body fat and weight are being recorded once a week. You also have one on one consultation, where someone sits with you and figures out a plan to help you lose weight, build muscle, and stay fit. There is a private group where you are able to discuss anything that is on your mind, which helps you stay on track.

4) How often did you work out at Peak Physique?

I exercise five to six times a week (1 hour a day, sometimes a double if I am feeling energized).

5) What is your favorite form of exercise to do and why?

My favorite exercise is a squat thrust to push up because I feel like I'm getting a full body workout in the first 30 seconds .

6) Have you had to deal with any injuries along the way?

At some point throughout my weight-loss journey, I ended up receiving steroid shots in my wrist due to something known as the mommy syndrome. It causes your wrist to swell up and have severe pain, but I did not allow my wrist to stop my process. I wrapped my hands and started downsizing in weights, modifying when I needed to and in a couple of weeks I was back to normal.

7) What did you change in your diet?

I cut back on junk food and fast food, and incorporated protein shakes, grilled food, and extra veggies. Instead of chocolate which I love, I would go for a protein bar.

8) How did you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your life?

I figured out how to make healthier choices .

9) What is the biggest struggle: food, exercise, temptation?

I struggle with temptation on a daily basis. Coming from a large Caribbean family, I'm surrounded by unhealthy food all of the time and it's not easy seeing everyone enjoying food that you try so hard to stay away from.

10) What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?

Being a mother is what motivates me to continue my journey. I don't want to sit around and watch my son playing by himself. I want to be able to go out on the field and be active alongside of him.

11) What are your goals for the future?

My future goal is to lose a couple more pounds, lower my body fat percentage and build more muscle.

12) What is your best piece of advice for those just starting their weight loss journey?

Just remember when you decide to loose weight, it's for the long run. It's not a quick fix result. It does not happen overnight. There will be setbacks, but don't let that stop you from getting to your goal... Pick yourself up... Trust the process and remember why you got started in the first place... And always remember to appreciate your victory big or small.
