JOB OPENINGS: BOUNCE! TRI-STATE AREA'S FIRST INDOOR TRAMPOLINE PARK IS LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD GYMNASTS

When Bounce! Trampoline Sports opens in October of this year, it will provide a unique form of fitness and entertainment for young and old alike.

The Valley Cottage based facility will have 25,000 square feet of space, most of it covered with wall-to-wall trampolines, and will offer fitness classes, open bounce time, league and pick-up dodgeball games as well as slam dunk basketball, corporate team building opportunities, and a separate kids zone called Bounce Jr. The fitness center will also have a snack bar stocked with healthy foods and drinks, a foam pit jump, arcade and wifi lounge.

Owners Danny Fried, founder of Manhattan's famed China Club, and Michael Gross, a former Tappan native, are looking for individuals with a gymnastics background to assist with the operations of the facility along with organizing trampoline demonstrations, competitions and dodgeball leagues and tournaments. Qualified instructors interested in teaching trampoline aerobics are also encouraged to apply.

"Based on the statistics for registered gymnasts in the area, more than 6,000 in NY and NJ combined, it should be easy to find qualified individuals to work in our unique facility," states Fried. He added, "Trampolining is to gymnastics what diving is to swimming and most gymnasts have had experience on the trampoline and understand how much fun a trampoline workout can be."

Trampolining as a sport began in the United States in the late 1940s. It spread to Europe several years later. In 1964 the International Trampoline Federation was formed with seven founding members. Today there are member federations from 42 countries and trampolining became an Official Olympic Sport at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
