Berkeley College Associates Volunteer in Rockland County on Fourth Annual Community Service Day

(By Berkeley College)
More than 200 Berkeley College associates and alumni volunteered 800 hours of service at 35 community agencies in New York and New Jersey as part of the fourth annual Berkeley College Community Service Day, held Friday, June 7.
In New York, volunteers had 18 opportunities to volunteer in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Rockland and Westchester counties. In Nanuet, volunteers stocked the shelves at People to People, Rockland County’s largest food pantry.
Community Service Day is an initiative of Berkeley Cares, which throughout the year assists charities in the critical areas of food, shelter, health and student success.
“Berkeley College has a long tradition of serving organizations in New York and New Jersey that need our assistance,” said Dario A. Cortes, PhD, President of Berkeley College, who volunteered with associates at the New York Public Library in Manhattan. “Community Service Day is an educational opportunity for our associates and alumni to learn more about the communities where we work and live as we support them with our voluntary efforts.”
A leader in business education for more than 80 years, Berkeley College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and enrolls more than 7,700 students — including over 800 international students — in its Baccalaureate and Associate degree programs.
