Big Idaho® Potato Truck Returns to Rockland on April 18th

The Big Idaho® Potato Truck, a giant potato aboard a 72-foot truck, returns to Rockland Community College on April 18th as part of RCC's organ donation and heart health event. This will be the truck's second visit to Rockland County, and the event will feature music, dancing, games & prizes, arts & crafts, and lots of food--featuring all kinds of potato goodies. The fair and activities are free and open to the public.

"Our stop was voted one of the top stops in the tour last year with about 3,000 attendees throughout the day." said Roxanne Watson, Event Organizer. "We are celebrating National Organ Donor Month, bringing awareness to organ donation, which goes inline with the truck's purpose. We are also bringing awareness to WomenHeart."

Back by popular demand, the world’s largest potato on wheels is traveling across the country promoting Idaho’s most famous agricultural product, the Idaho® potato. While on its journey, the Big Idaho® Potato Truck will help dozens of charities better serve their communities through its charitable program.

“The Big Idaho® Potato Truck has become the cornerstone of the Idaho Potato Commission’s marketing program,” explained Frank Muir, President & CEO, Idaho Potato Commission (IPC). “By promoting the truck in our national advertising campaign, participating in events with hundreds of thousands of attendees, and making stops at key retail and food service operations, we’ve been able to engage millions of consumers of all ages across the country.”

There will be live radio broadcast on April 18th from Rockland Community College. Radio station 100.7 WHUD has a promotion package including commercials leading up to the day of the event. Garys Gutter Service was the first business to purchase the promotion package.
