Car Falls From Overpass In Nanuet

Routes 59 and 304 were closed for hours for the investigation and clean-up.

NANUET, NY — A man died early Sunday after his car fell from Route 304 onto Route 59.

Clarkstown police were called to Route 59 near the overpass at 3:45 a.m.

They found a vehicle overturned near the median in the eastbound lanes, with one person inside.

It is believed at this time that the vehicle fell from Route 304 onto Route 59, Detective Norm Peters said. The man was declared dead at the scene.

Police withheld his identification pending notification of the next of kin.

Eastbound Route 59 and the overpass on Route 304 were closed for hours before being opened after sunrise Sunday.
