CILK119: New Shared Workspace In Nanuet, New York

The trend towards cooperative workspaces is rapidly expanding as entrepreneurs, upstarts, and freelancers discover the benefits of “Working Alone, Together” (Alex Martin, New York Times, May 3, 2013) . Forward thinking founders Donna Miele and Ken Herndon will launch CILK119, “A Shared Workspace for Professionals of a Creative ILK,” on October 15th 2014, to offer residents of the lower Hudson valley a community-oriented work environment.

CILK119 boasts “hot desks,” a maker space, a conference/classroom, a lounge and resource room, a kitchen, a private phone area, and the amenities of wifi, printing, scanning, copying, and lockers.

Become a member and bang out some progress on your latest novel, present a proposal to your clients, or cook up the glow globe rig for your lightning bug costume. It’s all possible! Getting it done is so much better in a supportive, creative community.

11am Yoga class with Raji Thron owner of Yoga Synthesis (Free)

1 pm Poetry reading by A. Anupama of Seranam Literary Arts and members of the Nyack Lit Meetup (Free)

4:00pm Musical performance by Studio 7 (Free)

6-7pm Reception and Refreshments (Free)

7-9pm Panel Discussion, “Small Business Milestones: Branding, Web Presence and Success” ($10 suggested donation)

A vibrant gathering place, CILK119 will continue to offer classes for professional development; readings, book signings, and craft talks by local authors; and receptions and events for local artists.
