Clara Rodriguez Lost 31 Pounds At Peak Physique
Clara Rodriguez talks about her weight loss journey.

Nanuet, N.Y. (April 29, 2019) – Clara Rodriguez have always liked to exercise and have tried different things through the years. "I found that I had reached a plateau a long time ago and was starting to gain weight. There was no variation in my workout routine and I was becoming frustrated and bored" said Clara Rodriguez.

1) Why did you choose Peak Physique Personal Training, Bootcamp and Boxing?
One of my close friends had mentioned it to me when she joined the 6 week challenge over the summer. I was intrigued but wasn't in the right mindset. I had always worked out by myself and wasn't sure how I felt about working out with a large group of people. A few months later, another friend told me about the zero pound challenge that started after Thanksgiving and I decided that I had nothing to lose and should give Peak a try.

2) How many pounds did you lose so far? How long did it take?
I have lost 31lbs since joining in November 2018 and 10.2% body fat.
3) How did Peak Physique help you meet your weight loss goal?
At Peak your body never has the opportunity to plateau since the workouts are always changing. The coaches are always so encouraging and supportive and push you to reach your fullest potential. I have met some of the nicest people who started out as workout partners and have now become my friends. I just participated in my first Spartan race with some of my friends at Peak and it was an experience that I will always remember!
4) How often did you work out at Peak Physique?
I'm usually at Peak 6 times a week and take double classes on Fridays and Sundays.
5) What is your favorite form of exercise to do and why?
I love boxing because it helps me cope with my daily stressors.
6) Have you had to deal with any injuries along the way?
None yet, thankfully.
7) What did you change in your diet?
My family is from the Dominican Republic and I was raised eating meals that are what I now consider a carb overload. At Peak I learned that even though you exercise if you are not eating properly you will gain weight. I have eliminated foods that are high in carbs, fat and sugar.
8) How did you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your life?
I remind myself that I'm a much happier person when I exercise and I deserve to feel happy. I view exercise as practicing self care and that has made it easier to maintain my focus.
9) What is the biggest struggle: food, exercise, temptation?
Food for sure! I have a sweet tooth and haven't had a piece of cake in a really long time!!
10) What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?
I have so many things that serve as my motivation. I was diagnosed and treated for colon cancer 12 years ago. I understand how lucky I am to have lived through that and be healthy today. I try to never take that for granted and live each day as if it were my last because at some point in my life I thought it could be. I believe if I survived cancer then a Peak workout pales in comparison. My beautiful daughters and husband also serve as my motivation.
11) What are your goals for the future?
My goal now is to continue to decrease my body fat and become stronger.
12) What is your best piece of advice for those just starting their weight loss journey?
Change happens in your mindset before it translates to your actions. You have to love yourself and think you are worthy of all the good things that this world has to offer. Change doesn't happen overnight and it's important to be patient through the process.
