Country Bank Celebrates New Flagship Location

Country Bank, with branches in Manhattan, Bronx & Scarsdale, will celebrate the grand opening of its midtown NYC flagship branch.

Country Bank, with branches in Manhattan, Bronx and Westchester, will celebrate the grand opening of its midtown NYC flagship branch location on Monday, April 27. The new branch, at 655 Third Avenue between 42nd and 41st street, will host a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony for invited guests at 11:00 AM. 655 Third Avenue is also home to the bank’s headquarters.

The new Manhattan location is the fifth branch for Country Bank; other locations include: 902 Second Avenue, 583 West 235th Street in Riverdale, 4349 Katonah Avenue in Woodlawn in the Bronx and 80 Garth Road in Scarsdale. Country Bank, one of only a handful of family controlled banks in the New York area, will expand its “personalized style into the heart of New York City with the opening of this flagship branch,” stated Chairman Joseph Murphy.

“Our number one goal is to retain our core value of being an easy bank to do business with so that we can grow right alongside our commercial clients as well as our individual depositors,” stated President Joe Jr. He added, “Unlike commercial banks, we take a far more streamlined approach to all aspects of banking for our customers, avoiding bureaucracy wherever possible, so that we can make quick decisions based on personal relationships, discussions and insight that benefit our commercial clients’ bottom line as well as our individual customer’s pocketbooks. We are family controlled like 70% of American businesses, that’s an essential and significant difference – we understand our clients in a way that commercial bankers can’t.”

Unlike its corporate run counterparts, Country Bank believes that a more informal laid back approach helps make everyone more comfortable which leads to better relationships. Even after moving from the country to the city in 1999, the bank has kept the original Country Bank moniker alluding both to the notion of a country bank -- where clients are treated like community members -- as well as to the idea of a multicultural bank where clients from any country in the world could conduct business. As Joe Jr. elucidates, “The hospitality factor has been there since its inception. You feel it from the moment you enter. It’s a more welcoming style that we feel translates into loyal customers who feel that they have a partner at their bank, someone who looks out for their business as well as for their family’s financial concerns.”

Anyone stopping by the new branch to learn more about Country Bank’s commercial or individual banking options over the next several weeks will receive a free gift while supplies last. Country Bank is also offering a Grand Opening Liquid Gold CD promotion including an increased bonus rate with the opening of any checking account.
