Dog and Cat First Aid Training for First Responders In Rockland

The training will teach first responders life saving techniques in case of emergencies involving people's pets.

The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Hi Tor Animal Shelter, Old Tappan Veterinary and AirforPaws.com, will be sponsoring Dog and Cat First Aid/CPR Training for First Responders which includes police, fire and EMS.

The course will be conducted on Monday April 23, 2018 from 7 – 9PM at the Fire Training Center in Pomona, N.Y.

This is the second offering of this course of training. The training will teach first responders life saving techniques in case of emergencies involving people’s pets. This training is also important for police K9 handlers and other service animal handlers who may have to treat their K9 partners during an emergency.

The course is currently being offered only to first responders. There are plans to offer the training to members of the general public in the future.
