
Dorothy Salisbury Davis died on Sunday, August 3, 2014, she was 98 years old.
Dorothy was born in Chicago, IL to Alfred and Margaret Salisbury. She resided in Palisades, NY for the past 52 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Davis, the actor, who passed away in 1993.
Dorothy published many novels and short stories, including two sets of series novels. She wrote novels that explored Psychological suspense and had a strong way of sharing with readers the minds of female characters confronting hazards and crisis. She was nominated for the Edgar Award eight times and served as president of the Mystery Writers of America in 1956 and was declared a Grand Master by that organization in 1985.

A private burial will be held at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11 am, at the Palisades Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Manhattanville College Scholarship Fund, 2200 Purchase St. Purchase, NY 10577.
