Dr. Jasen A. Ruiz Lost 45 Pounds At Peak Physique
Dr. Jasen A. Ruiz talks about his weight loss journey.
Nanuet, N.Y. (February 4, 2019) – Dr. Jasen A. Ruiz was always active and a sports fanatic when he was younger. He wrestled and played football in high school and college. As he continued on his path through Grad school, he became less active. Upon graduation, he primarily worked behind a desk. Therefore, his activities diminished. However, his eating habits remain the same, forgetting the consequences of unhealthy eating and minimal exercise. "I gained so my much weight that my shirt buttons were screaming and my patients inconspicuously staring" said Dr. Jasen A. Ruiz, CCC-A, F-AAA, Chief Audiologist at Advanced Audiology of NY. Moreover, he always had an excuse to not attend the gym.

1) Why did you choose Peak Physique Personal Training, Bootcamp and Boxing?
I met Eva at an event sponsored by the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce. She has an infectious energy and drive and offered a free week invitation at Peak. She gave me every reason to attend an orientation. I procrastinated for another six months, and finally attended the orientation on June 16, 2018. I experienced the genuine drive both Steve and Eva had throughout their presentation. I saw the before and after pictures they had on their slide show. What actually convinced me was the drastic change in my body in only a week. I bought into the program of eating clean and attending the classes 6 times a week.

2) How many pounds did you lose so far? How long did it take?
When I started at Peak I was 226 pounds with 26.6% body fat. I was enthusiastic and motivated to win the 28-day challenge. I lost 18 pounds in 28 days, won the challenge. The challenge was the first step in a positive direction to attain my end goal. I lost 45 pounds and 14.2% body fat in just 4 months. I currently weigh 181 pounds and 12.4% body fat.
3) How did Peak Physique help you meet your weight loss goal? I followed Peak ‘s regimen on a daily basis. With Peak assistance I changed my entire eating habit and exercise. The class structure organized by Steve and Eva are outstanding and second to none in my experience. The coaches are all great, motivating and are driven to assist with the entire team goals. Lastly and most important Peak’s members have become a second family. They push me to the limit, assist with my form and make sure I go for that extra rep. I truly believe that we motivate each other and I always look forward to working with my team at Peak each morning.

4) How often did you work out at Peak Physique? I work out 6 days a week.
5) What is your favorite form of exercise to do and why? I don’t have a favorite form of exercise; each day is amazing at the gym. I do, however, like to focus on my arms since that is where I notice the greatest transformation. My shirtsleeves are the current attention instead of the open buttonholes at the tummy.
6) What did you change in your diet?
I changed my entire eating habit. My diet consists of six small meals high in protein. I drink 16oz of water prior to each meal and through out the day. My entree daily food consumption is prepared in the morning, which assist with staying on track.
7) Do you take any supplements? I drink a protein shake as part of a daily meal.
8) How did you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your life? I needed a change in my lifestyle and made it happen without any excuses. I usually wake up at 5am, in the gym by 5:40 to stretch and ready for class at 6am. I notice the change in my energy at the end of the day while running around with my three year old. My confidence level has improved mentally and physically. My positive attitude and self esteem are my motivators.
9) What is the biggest struggle: food, exercise, temptation?
The biggest struggle is maintaining my new eating habits during the holidays. Also, the weekends going out for dinner, I usually substitute many of the simple carbohydrates with vegetables.
10) What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?
I want to be a better person for my family, patients and of course myself. Maintain a positive attitude and self-esteem.
11) What are your goals for the future?
I want to compete at the amateur NPC Northeast Summer Classic in White Plains, N. Y. in July 2019.
12) What is your best piece of advice for those starting their weight loss journey?
Stop making excuses and get started today. Don’t think about it. Let the expert staff at Peak do the thinking for you. Keep yourself accountable for what you eat and your life will be changed pretty quickly!
