HANA of Rockland County, Inc. Formed Four Committees
Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA) of Rockland County, Inc. formed four committees to meet the needs of the association.

Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA) of Rockland County, Inc. is a 501(c) 3, non-profit membership organization with a mission to provide nurses the opportunity to unite as a group, to share and provide ideas of interest, and to become effectively involved with the issues and services relevant to the health and welfare of communities in Rockland County, NY and abroad. These four committees were formed to meet the needs of the association.
EDUCATION/ NEWSLETTER COMMITTEE

The role and scope of the Education Committee shall be to plan educational activities to support the mission of the Association.
The objective of the Education Committee is to promote health education through scholarship, community involvement and leadership.
Goals:
1. Provide learning opportunities to all members to support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
2. Support nursing education with the United States and the National Nursing School (L’ecole Nationale d”infirmieres Jeremie, Haiti)
3. Provide health promotion education to the Haitian Community and other minority communities.

FUNDRAISING/GALA COMMITTEE

The role and scope of the Fundraising/Gala Committee shall raise funds for planned programs/activities for the Association. Its mission is to raise money to meet the ongoing needs of the Association by the following goals.
1. Collaborate with members in the planning of events.
2. Develop a plan to meet budgeting needs and present proposed plan to the members.
3. Plan and attend events that will help to cultivate the budgeting goals.
4. Assure that fundraising efforts are cost effective.
5. Monitor fundraising efforts and to ensure that ethical principles are being adhered to.
HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE

The role and scope of the Hospitality Committee shall be to ensure that all who enters into contact with the Association is made to feel welcome, treated with respect, courtesy and consideration and is valued as an essential part of the Association. The members of the Hospitality Committee are called upon to:
1. Reflect on how our meeting can best greet and welcome visitors and newcomers. Members will serve as official host, welcoming members and guests at all Association functions.
2. Prepare and arrange refreshments for Association functions.
3. Provide hospitality arrangements for invited guests (hotel accommodations, transportation assistance).
RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION COMMITTEE

The role and scope of the Recruitment and Retention Committee shall be to identify strategies to recruit nursing students, graduate students and professional nurses to the Association.
Goals:
1. Reach out to former members.
2. Increase membership and target prospective members by visiting local Nursing Schools and Hospitals in the Rockland County, New York area.
3. Plan and arrange events for welcoming new members.
