Happy Nurses' Week

National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6 through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

The 2015 theme is “Culture of safety. It starts with YOU.”

The National Nurses Week 2016 theme “Culture of safety. It starts with YOU” recognizes the impact nursing has on patient outcomes and quality of care. The American Nurses Association (ANA) has designated 2016 as Culture of Safety and the tagline is Safety 360 Taking Responsibility Together. ANA defines a culture of safety as one in which core values and behaviors — resulting from a collective and sustained commitment by organizational leadership, managers and workers — emphasize safety over competing goals (ANA, 2016).

WCFR would like to take this opportunity to salute all of YOU: NURSES.

Thanks for all you do, everyday in the nursing profession.
