Hazardous Weather Outlook For Nanuet's Work Week

NANUET, NY — It was a short break. We'll be back to high humidity, heavy rain, storms and possible flooding in the Hudson Valley by midweek, forecasters say.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

Tropical moisture will once again surge northward between a slow-moving storm and a Bermuda High (a strong area of high pressure offshore) for the end of July and beginning of August, said Kristina Pydynowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

And if you're going to the beach on vacation, be wary. Rough surf and rip currents are expected by midweek in the mid-Atlantic, southern Long Island and southeastern New England.

Here's the National Weather Service's work week forecast for Rockland County:

• Tonight-Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers after midnight. Patchy fog after midnight. Lows in the mid 60s. South winds around 5 mph in the evening, becoming light and variable. Chance of rain 20 percent.
• Tuesday-Mostly cloudy. Patchy fog in the morning. A chance of showers in the morning, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs around 80. Southeast winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Tuesday Night-Cloudy with a chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Humid with lows in the lower 70s. Southeast winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
• Wednesday-Cloudy with a chance of showers. A slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Humid with highs in the mid 80s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Wednesday Night-Cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 70s. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Thursday-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Lows in the lower 70s. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Friday-Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s. Chance of rain 40 percent.
• Friday Night-Cloudy with a chance of showers. Lows around 70. Chance of rain 50 percent.
