A short film by Rockland NY filmmaker Kristian Comer of Nanuet was selected by the international film festival South Film and Arts Academy Festival. It was selected for its 24th season and is in the running for an award nomination. Kristian is very proud of the success the film has achieved and looks forward to its release later this winter.

July 15th follows widower Stanley Stevenson on his way to celebrate the anniversary of the day he met his deceased wife Clara. Each year he goes back to the same spot, a bench in Washington Square Park, and eats the same sandwich, hot roast beef, he had that day. When he reaches the bench he finds a woman crying and decides to cheer her up. Between a hilarious banter of shared interests of food and love of New York, they develop a strong bond. July 15th deals with the theme of true love and how it is affected by a death. It’s a silent film paying homage to love films that came before it and was completely shot in NYC.
