Metro-North Train Hits Truck In Rockland

SLOATSBURG, NY — Emergency responders were dispatched to Route 17 in Sloatsburg at the scene of a collision involving a Metro-North train and tractor-trailer. Ramapo police said there were no injuries.

Service was suspended on the Port Jervis line in both directions, Metro-North reported on its website.

"Buses are temporarily substituting for Port Jervis Line trains while the MTA police investigate the incident at the Washington Avenue crossing near Route 17 in Sloatsburg involving a truck and Train 55, the 5:15 p.m. departure from Hoboken, due into Port Jervis at 7:28 p.m.," spokesman Aaron Donovan told Patch.
