Michaels Closes Rockland County Location
The arts-and-crafts retailer said the Spring Valley store would shut down by the end of the month.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — Rockland County will lose another big-box arts-and-crafts store at the end of January as Michaels closes its store at the Spring Valley Marketplace.
"We are closing the Spring Valley location. We greatly appreciate the support the community has given the Michaels team, and know our Team Members have enjoyed serving all our customers there," Public Relations Manager Mallory Smith said in a statement to Patch.
The A.C. Moore store in Nanuet closed a year ago, in January of 2019, as the chain, owned by Nicole Crafts, decided to "exit its retail operations" by closing its stores and stopping online orders.

Smith said Michaels was constantly evaluating its retail footprint.
"While we know the decision to close stores is disappointing for many Makers, rest assured Michaels.com continues to offer the trusted products, projects, and inspiration for our maker community," Smith said.
