Police ID Victim Of Morning House Fire In Nanuet: Update
The front of the house was engulfed in flames and smoke when police arrived.
NANUET, NY — A Nanuet resident died in an early morning fire on Amarillo Drive. The Clarkstown Police Department has identified the victim as Michael Mantell, 75.
Mantell died as a result of injuries sustained in the fire, police said. The fire does not appear to be suspicious but its cause has not yet been determined.
Police said the fire was reported at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday.

The front of the house at 27 Amarillo Drive was engulfed in flames and smoke when officers arrived. They weren't able to get inside.

Firefighters including the Nanuet/Spring Valley FAST team fought the blaze. Mutual aid came from South Spring Valley, Pearl River and West Nyack, Rockland Fires reported on Facebook.
