Nanuet Teen Wins Kohl’s Scholarship

Helene Carey of Nanuet was recognized by Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program for her volunteer effort to make a positive impact in the Rockland Community.

The 16-year-old was one of 140 youth to be acknowledged for their service.

Each of the winners received a $50 gift card to shop at Kohl’s department stores. Ten of them will qualify for a $10,000 scholarship, awarded in July, along with $1,000 to be donated to the winner’s charity of choice. 

Kohl’s has been rewarding local volunteers for 13 years, and will honor 23,000 volunteers with more than $400,000 in scholarship in 2013.
