Ocean State Job Lot Celebrates 4th Hudson Valley Store
The new store replaces the closed Toys R Us.

NANUET, NY — Ocean State Job Lot celebrated the opening of its second Rockland County location with five big donations to local charities on Saturday. The new OSJL revives the retail location at 122 East Route 59 vacated when Toys R Us closed.
It is the fourth store the Rhode-Island based retailer has opened in the Hudson Valley. The others are in Poughkeepsie, Fishkill and New City.
As part of the ribbon-cutting festivities, Ocean State Job Lot executives including Nanuet Store Team Leader Andy Rackmill presented a $500 check to Meals on Wheels of Rockland County as part of the Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation’s “Close to Our Heart” program.

OSJL also donated pallets of non-perishable food each valued at $1,700 for immediate use to the B.R.i.D.G.E.S Food Pantry, People to People Inc. / Food Pantry, and T.O.U.C.H - Together Our Unity Can Heal.
In addition, it donated an entire tractor-trailer truck of food to its regional partners, the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, valued at $22,000.

“We are thrilled to debut this new location in the greater Clarkstown community,” Rackmill said. “Since our soft opening on, we have received a warm welcome from the community, and we look forward to continuing that relationship for years to come.”
Also, in a more lighthearted charitable move, Ocean State Job Lot donated $1,000 in gift cards as part of its ‘Discount Dash for Charity,’ which featured local media and community members competing in a timed scavenger hunt for select Ocean State Job Lot products.
“At Ocean State Job Lot we pride ourselves on our commitment to the communities in which we operate," said David Sarlitto, Executive Director, Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation. "We're excited about our new relationship with Nanuet, and we're looking forward to being part of its success."
The store brings 50 new jobs to Nanuet. The 38,000 sq. ft. building is OSJL’s 13th location in New York.
