'People to People' Receives $10K Donation

Rockland's leading hunger relief organization got more than a helping hand when O&R donated to fund the Healthy Harvest initiative.

From ORU: People to People, Rockland’s leading hunger relief organization, got more than a helping hand when O&R donated $10,000 to fund the Healthy Harvest initiative. O&R’s contribution purchased a new large, energy-efficient, walk-in refrigerator to store the Nanuet Food Pantry’s fresh fruits and vegetables. The refrigerator is at the heart of People to People’s increased efforts to provide more nutritious, healthy food to its consumers.

Working here to get healthy food from the refrigerator to the people are, from left: People to People Food Pantry Manager Pierre Desir and O&R’s Regional and Community Affairs Director Neil Winter, a People to People Board member. For over 25 years, People to People has provided aid to families and individuals who have fallen through the human services support system safety net and are in need of short-term assistance with food, clothing and guidance. Nearly 14,000 people were helped by People to People programs last year.
