Peter Clemente Lost 40 Pounds At Peak Physique

Peter Clemente talks about his weight loss journey.

Nanuet, N.Y. (February 18, 2019) – Peter Clemente will turn 49 this March, and has been with his wife for 25 years. "We met at Great Adventure and that’s absolutely what our life together has been. We have 4 beautiful children, 3 girls and 1 boy, ages 5 to 11, and live in Congers behind the beautiful Davies Apple Fields." said Peter Clemente, Owner of Pete’s Chimney & More.

From his early twenties through his late thirties, he competed in numerous fights, tournaments, competitions and smokers for muay thai, bare knuckle karate, kickboxing, grappling, jiu-jitsu and MMA (mixed martial arts). "I was always at the highest level of conditioning. Fitness was my life. Until July 24th, 2014. That's when my whole world changed. For the worse!!" said Peter Clemente, Owner of Pete’s Chimney & More. While on a carnival slide with his three year old daughter, they got tossed off the slide. His daughter was okay, but he ended up breaking his right leg (tibia and fibula) and 22 bones in his foot. He required immediate surgery, which consisted of having a titanium rod and pins inserted into his leg. During the surgery, two nerves were accidentally cut causing painful neuromas that he still has to this day. Also adding to misery was that he was allergic to the titanium, which went undiscovered for three years, and eventually led to the removal of his rod and hardware. For 4 and 1/2 years from the date of the accident, he was unable to do the things that he loved and was accustomed to doing.

"In the months and years following my surgery I became inactive, put on 40 lbs, and was extremely depressed from the repercussions of my accident." said Peter Clemente, Owner of Pete’s Chimney & More. "My depression got so bad that I started becoming consumed with suicidal thoughts. Severely desperate and just about at the end of my rope, I needed to do something quick before it was too late. So I joined Peak in February of 2018, lost 40 lbs in 4 months, and haven't looked back. I've got my swagger again and feel great, both physically, and more important, mentally."

1) Why did you choose Peak Physique Personal Training, Bootcamp and Boxing?
I was aware of Steve & Eva's facility back when I had my fitness and MMA programs. I would constantly hear from different people that there was another crazy, bald guy, giving these intense workouts. I never went to Peak and checked it out because I had my place, but always heard good things about their place. So since I no longer had my schools at the time of my accident, what better place to go to than Peak. And I'm so grateful that I did.

2) How many pounds did you lose so far? How long did it take?
I lost 40 pounds in the first 4 months. For the past 8 months, I've pretty much maintained that except for a few pounds I gained around the holidays. With Peaks regimen & formula for success those 'holiday' pounds quickly went away..

3) How did Peak Physique help you meet your weight loss goal?
The workouts are intense, but it's the coaches. They are some of the best I've ever trained with. All different in their own way, but each 100% committed to help you reaching your goals. Peak also offers numerous tools for accountability which is crucial for those serious about losing weight.

4) How often did you work out at Peak Physique?
I like to do a boxing & boot camp class every day, 6 days a week, if I can. Some days I'll do a double, which is back to back classes, but most days I do a 5 or 6am class then return later in the day for another. This place gets you addicted and you just love being here.

5) What is your favorite form of exercise to do and why?
I've always loved boxing class, which should really be called muay thai boxing class, because we incorporate knee & elbow strikes along with kicks and punches. The full body workout is not only great for burning calories and building lean muscle mass, but it's also a practical form of training that could save your life one day.

6) What did you change in your diet?
I went from eating 6-8 pounds of food a day (slight exaggeration) to 6-8 small meals a day, replaced soda with water, and the hardest thing to do, I cut out carbs and sugar, for the most part.

7) Do you take any supplements?
I do not.

8) How did you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your life?
I had no choice. I had to get back to the life I lived before my freak accident. Depression and suicide are scary, horrible, things. Peak brought me back to the life I was accustomed to. I just needed some guidance, assistance, and support.

9) What is the biggest struggle: food, exercise, temptation?
My biggest struggle is not being able to do everything I could do before my accident. Modifications are needed for some things and my intensity level has definitely been dramatically diminished.

10) What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?
Just knowing that with exercise and good eating habits come a healthier mindset along with a stronger body. I workout mainly for the stress relief and peace of mind that it offers.

11) What are your goals for the future?
I would really love to teach a few boxing classes at Peak. I miss helping people in this capacity, one that I am familiar with and quite good at. Peak helped save my life and I'd really love to pay it forward.

12) What is your best piece of advice for those just starting their weight loss journey?
Surround yourself with like minded and similar goal oriented people. Be committed to you and the program. Stay the course no matter how hard it gets. Offer no excuses. And most of all, never quit!!

"I would like to thank Peter Clemente for sharing his weight loss journey. I am currently on my weight loss journey, and started the Six Week Weight Loss Body Transformation Challenge at Peak Physique five weeks ago. One of the things that I love about Peak Physique is how they helped change my entire eating habit. Eating properly has helped me not feel tired ALL the time. I have lost 12lbs. I am so excited to finally meet my weight loss goals with the help of Steve and Eva Eckert, and the awesome coaches here. Peter Clemente is a true success story and should be applauded for his transformation. He did it the old fashion way with hard work and good nutrition. I am inspired by these stories, and look forward to writing more about people's weight loss successes at Peak Physique" Jacqueline Cassagnol, MSN, RN, PhD(c), Founder & President of Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc.
