Man Arraigned In Spring Valley Library Stabbing: Update
Both the security guard who died and the man accused of stabbing her are Spring Valley residents.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — The man accused of stabbing a security guard at the Finkelstein Memorial Library Tuesday has been charged with second-degree murder, a felony, Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh said. The woman, who died, was identified Wednesday as Sandra Wilson, 52, of Spring Valley.
Blanchard Glaudin, 25, of Wood Street in Spring Valley, New York was arraigned and sent to the Rockland County Jail. He is due back to court on Feb. 24.
Wilson was attacked at the computer terminals on the third floor of the library. Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that Glaudin stabbed Wilson after she told him to turn his music down.

Nearby library patrons jumped a man they said had a knife in his hand, police said. Wilson was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
"The people of Rockland are shaking their heads at the news of yet another violent crime that took the life a loving mother, grandmother and resident. Our prayers go out to the Wilson family on their loss," Walsh said. "I want to commend the brave citizens, who reacted without fear for their safety, by subduing the suspect. We will ensure that justice is served in this horrible crime."

"Many in our community visit the Finkelstein Memorial Library, and it's a place I have taken my own children and have always felt safe," state Sen. David Carlucci said. "I am extremely upset over this act of violence that incited more fear and chaos in our close-knit community."
