Shannon Hansen Lost 35 Pounds At Peak Physique

Nanuet, N.Y. (April 15, 2019) – Shannon Hansen broke her ankle in July 2017, which required three surgeries. "Once I finished physical therapy after my second surgery, I was a few weeks away from returning to work. I looked at myself in the mirror and said, 'I am never going to fit back into my uniform'. I was overweight and terribly out of shape. Being a police officer, being in that shape was unsafe both to myself and my fellow officers. I had to do something. I started at Peak Physique on April 16th, 2018." said Shannon Hansen.

2) How many pounds did you lose so far? How long did it take?

35 pounds and approx 12% body fat. I dropped 30 pounds in six months.
3) How did Peak Physique help you meet your weight loss goal?
I need to be pushed everyday and have my workout planned for me. That's exactly what you get at Peak. My fellow Peak Freaks are like family and I look forward to each workout.
4) How often did you work out at Peak Physique?
4/5 days a week, sometimes twice a day.
5) What is your favorite form of exercise to do and why?
MUSCLE MONDAY! Hands down, strength training. I’ve always enjoyed lifting but was more than likely not doing it correctly. The trainers at Peak Physique are there to correct your form and I love it. Boxing classes are fun too, very challenging and mixes things up. Great way to get your frustrations out!
6) Have you had to deal with any injuries along the way?
Yes, three ankle surgeries and lower back problems, but there is always a way to modify each exercise to still get the most out of each workout.
7) What did you change in your diet?
EVERYTHING! Literally everything. I learned how to eat much healthier from the coaches and fellow members. What really blew my mind was the amount of sugar that I was consuming without realizing it.
8) How did you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your life?
The gym has become my addiction and my sanity. But you also have to remember that you only live once. You still have to live your life and enjoy certain foods. Just do it in moderation.
9) What is the biggest struggle: food, exercise, temptation?
Chocolate! Chocolate chip cookies! Brownies! The struggle is real!
10) What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?
Old pictures.... I never forget how I felt and will never allow myself to go back to where I started. I look at my results and it motivates me to keep pushing. I have never felt this good in my life and I’ll do whatever it takes to keep going.
11) What are your goals for the future?
Drop a few more pounds and tone up.
12) What is your best piece of advice for those just starting their weight loss journey?
Stop with the million excuses you make up in your head and just do it! I’ve been there and always said, “I’ll do it tomorrow”. Just get up and go!
