Spring Snow Arriving: Hour-by-hour Forecast for Nanuet

A light snow is forecast to overspread the lower Hudson Valley Sunday afternoon into Monday.

While the National Weather Service has continued to post a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, it is calling the coming storm a “light snowfall event” for our area.

No more than 2 inches is expected. Long Island and points toward the northeast will likely see more.

AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson said the recent warmth will make it difficult for the snow to build up on road surfaces during the daylight hours.

“Snow will have a hard time sticking to roadways, especially during the daylight hours when temperatures will be above freezing,” he said.

The bulk of the snow will fall overnight. The NWS predicts half an inch will have fallen by 2AM and less than an inch more will fall before 11AM when the storm has blown through.

• 8PM: 33 degrees, wind 6mph, chance of snow 40 percent
• 11PM: 31 degrees, wind 6mph, chance of snow 60 percent
• 5AM: 28 degrees, wind 7mph, chance of snow 52 percent
• 11AM: 36 degrees, wind 10mph, chance of snow 22 percent
