WCFR to hold Community Health Screening at Palisades Center Mall

The event, in conjunction with National Public Health Week, is sponsored by Lord & Taylor.

Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. will team up with Lord & Taylor to hold Community Health Screening event at the Palisades Center Mall on Sunday, April 3rd from 12 noon to 2 p.m.

During the event, WCFR will provide FREE Blood Pressure Screening and Health Education on how to: • Maintain a healthy weight • Be physically active Follow a healthy eating plan • Eat foods with less sodium (salt) Drink alcohol only in moderation • Take prescribed drugs as directed.

This WCFR Community Health Screening is in conjunction with National Public Health Week. Each year during the first full week of April, American Public Health Association brings together communities across the United States to observe National Public Health Week as a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving our nation. For over 20 years, APHA has served as the organizer of NPHW. Every year, the Association develops a national campaign to educate the public, policymakers and practitioners about issues related to each year's theme. APHA champions the health of all people and all communities. The theme for this year is "Healthiest Nation 2030" Let’s make America the healthiest nation in one generation.

"WCFR is celebrating its fifth anniversary. We are thrilled to participate in this National Public Health Week, as our objectives this year are: to engage community members in promoting healthy lifestyles in their community, and to engage community members in making their community safer, better prepared, and more resilient to disasters." said WCFR Founder & President, Jacqueline Cassagnol, MSN, RN, PMC. "We thank Lord & Taylor for sponsoring this event. Throughout the year, we will provide free community health screening and education. We will also provide free hands-only CPR and disaster preparedness training."

This event is free to attend, however donations will be graciously accepted, which will benefit WCFR Health Education and Training Programs.
