Work On I-87 Will Cause Delays In Rockland For Next Two Weeks
Lane shifts, closures on the southbound Thruway could also affect motorists entering from Route 17 or I-287.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — A traffic shift and lane closure is scheduled to begin Tuesday on the New York State Thruway in Rockland County for a bridge rehabilitation project on State Route 202. Be prepared for delays especially during peak travel times. Consider seeking alternate routes.
The traffic shift and lane closure on I-87 southbound just prior to exit 15 (New Jersey - I-287 - NJ Route 17 South) to exit 14B (Airmont - Montebello - Airmont Road) is expected to be in place for several weeks, weather permitting.
Motorists are urged to slow down, remain alert and obey the posted work zone speed limits.

The rehabilitation is a component of a $19 million improvement project on I-87 between exit 15 (New Jersey - I-287 - NJ Route 17 South) and exit 14A (New Jersey – Garden State Parkway) which began in 2017.
Work is being performed by Kubricky Construction of Wilton, NY and is expected to be complete by mid-December. It is weather dependent and subject to change.

Variable Messages Signs (VMS) are illuminated to advise motorists of the traffic changes and possible delays, which motorists entering the Thruway from New Jersey from Route 17 and I-287 may also experience.
